Method
Make the salmon mixture
- Combine flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, fresh dill, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Mix until evenly combined and the mixture holds together.
Shape the patties
- Shape the mixture into 6 patties, about 1/2-inch thick. Press firmly so the patties stay intact during cooking.
Air fry
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Let it fully heat so the patties crisp quickly.
Coat for crisping
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket and the patties with cooking spray. Use a thin, even coat to help them brown without excess oil.
Cook until golden
- Air fry at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Cook until golden and crisp on both sides, with a tender center.
Serve
- Serve immediately with a squeeze of fresh lemon. Add the lemon just before eating for bright flavor.
Notes
For best results, chill shaped patties for 10 minutes before air frying so they hold their shape more easily. Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 3 days; reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes to re-crisp. Freezing is not recommended because patties can soften after thawing. If you want a lighter option, use plain Greek yogurt in place of mayonnaise for a tangier, lower-fat result.
